Default Chirp gone from alarm.

Hi all, when I approach my bike it picks up my fob but no longer chirps as I switch it on or off, any ideas ? Cheers.

if you mess with the bike (with no fob present) will the alarm still sound? if it doesn't, then your alarm siren module is bad. if it does, look in your owners manual, there is something in there about how to enable/disable the chirp

There is also a battery in the siren module (so if the main battery is disconnected the alarm still goes off). Could just be the battery in the module. Not too bad to replace it.

pretty sure that the module would still chirp when armed/disarmed even if the battery was dead (else how would the radio shack siren work?), but it still doesn't hurt to check that too....

Just reset your chirp mode. 1. With the fob present, the ignition switch to ignition & the system disarmed, turn ignition switch off. 2. When the system arms (2 flashes of the turn signals) immediately turn the ignition switch to ignition. 3.wait until the security lamp goes out, then immediately turn the ignition switch off. 4. When the ignition arms (2 flashes of the turn signal)immediately turn the ignition switch to ignition, and wait for the system to disarm.

Good luck!
