Default New Years Day ride

Not that special of a thing but I always try to get one in. Has just become a tradition over the years. Mid 40's, mostly to partly sunny is the forecast so will be heading out about noon. Anyone else riding today?

I doubt that we will...she has to work this afternoon and it's a little too "cool" for me.

Well, my dad had fall, and banged up his face pretty good. I would have visited my folks with my kids, but its too gruesome for them.

So, now I'm going to go visit him solo, and they are about an hour away, mostly a parkway ride. Its pretty cool here, but I'm really thinking about riding down. Could be months before I ride again. . . . and I'm going alone, so part of me keeps saying "take the bike"

Maybe this afternoon. Wife is still in the midst of packing away Christmas decorations and it's my job to haul the crates out to the storage building; gotta finish that first.

Not fir me. Too many drunks, and otherwise post party distracted drivers on the road.

3* right now, 600 yards of loose snow and ice to the paved road, mile of compact snow and ice to the clear pavement. So, no.

It's colder outside than the beer in the frig.

Nope not today

With 23 degree temps and salt-covered roads, the only thing I'm riding is a sofa. Fortunately there are college bowl games on TV.

Going later today on my annual New Year's Day ride with my son. Pics later. Sure beats watching a parade. Great way to begin the new year. Ron

Nope...it just reached the freezing point and I'm too "old" to handle the low temps anymore. Many decades ago I could ride in freezing temps and even snow, but after I retired it seems my "minimums" rise every year!

Stay safe all you New Years Day riders!
