Default How long until the Twin Cam is replaced with a new design?

Been looking all over the net and can't seem to even find many opinions on this or predictions. I've heard some say that the twin cam will be the last of the air cooled engines. What's next for Harley do you think? Nothing but V-Rod type engines in all models? Just wanna hear some opinions.

Probably V-Rod type stuff. I suspected that the new Road Glide was gonna have a poked and stroked V-Rod type engine in it. I was wrong.

Just as soon as they get that Flux Capacitor problem figured out.

Not anywhere in the foreseeable future. Unlike the previous HD engines the Twin Cam was made to be much more adaptable with more size variation. It's bathtub compression chamber beats the Evo engine in producing power which beat the shovels hemi head in power.

They are now up to 120 cu. in. and no real need to go farther. The hottest 120R set up with the 12.5:1 pistons can get 150hp at the rear wheel.

Twin cooling them will work for at least 20 to 30 years. Kawasaki has gotten many years out of its water cooled heads only for a long time now.

That's interesting. So do you think that in the near future we will see twin cooled across the line up?

Considering that the twin cam was introduced in 1999, it's now into its 16th year.

The EVO was introduced in 1984 -- fifteen years before the next motor.

HD almost certainly has "their next motor" in the works right now.

I view the "twin cooled" as a transitional design.

The next motor is going to do it differently. But how?
