Default Theft Deterrent

What good deterrents out there for a bike made without an alarm? I was thinking one idea was to use a very thick gauge chain with large lock in combination with a disk lock? Helpful? or other idea might be nice.

I put a RoadLock on my BO right from the get go. Its no guarantee your bike won't be stolen, NOTHING IS, but the sheer convenience of using the little plug you carry on your key-chain, means you'll use it.

Warning; "they're mighty proud of em".

Are we talking when on the road or at home in the garage? Chains are very heavy to be bringing to the local hangout!?!?

A chain and this.

On Old Blue, normally I padlock the forks, and when long term storage, add a chain between the wheels.

I have used a Xena XX10 front disc lock for a couple years. With it attached your bike isn't going to be rolled or driven away to anywhere. The 120 Db audio alarm is ear piercing and a deterrent in itself, plus you'll quickly be reminded it's attached if you temporarily forget. Lastly, it's small enough to be easily stored in a saddle or windshield bag.
