We are back in a Holler and our county does not do much. Yep probably 6 inches on the ground the only way out is on a 4 wheeler.. Hills are pretty steep and the ice is not helping. Glad we heat with wood as the power could go off any minute .. Stay Warm out there ...
yep sitting here snowed in, on the Internet. Didn't get the windshield defrost or washer option on my bike either.
Just rambling here
I would go with the studs, if you throw a tire chain off on a bike things get ugly fast.
Years ago when I was young and dumb as opposed to old and dumb now, I actually made a set of snow chains(rear wheel only) for a bike one very long snowy winter. They worked pretty well at very low speed for a few days. It came loose though going down the road and wrapped up in my drive chain, at least snow doesn't leave as much road rash as dry pavement.
I only ride in snow now if I get caught out in it and when it happens you couldn't drive a spike nail up my @ss with a 10 pound hammer.
