Default Memphis Shades problem

I've got one of the Memphis Shades windshields with Gradient Black tint on the lower portion.

I noticed that over the last month or so almost the entire tinted lower section has gradually crazed over with very tiny "stress cracks." The upper clear section is fine. Anybody else had this problem? I've emailed Memphis Shades but haven't heard back yet.

I had a Memphis Shades gradient shield for about 6 years and never experienced that.

Are you using a glass cleaner on it like Windex?
Another thought is for guys that use a cover in high temps.
The crazing is a common issue amongst boaters with wind shields. Usually an alcohol based cleaner is used or extreme heat from sun are the culprits

Mine has it too...It's several years old though, and seems to be only where the tint is, and behind my windshield pouches, so it doesn't interfere with my line of sight. I stopped caring about it.

What kind of cloth are you using? Using paper towels or newspaper can put microscratches on your windshield that gets worse with time.

Nope, don't use anything other than soap and water on the shield then dry it with a soft towel. Mine also is only doing it on the tinted lower part. No problem with the clear upper.

MS e'd me back and there is a two year warranty on the shield. When I get home I have to send them the lot number of the part and they will check it out. I hope the place I bought it from didn't have it sitting on the shelf for a couple of years.

If they don't make good on it I'll still use the shield. Like RHPAW said, I'll just stop caring about it.

Yep. Had the exact same windshield as you and had the exact same problem. Emailed them multiple times over the years and finally gave up and learned to not look at it. Frustrating.

I have run mine for only a year now and it is full tint - I have not seen any stress cracks in mine - and I can't say I'm the best in taking care of mine when it comes to cleaning...
