Yesterday I was riding down our main road in the shopping district and noticed a 50ish lady sitting at a intersection on my right. I made eye contact with her and thought she saw me....suddenly she pulls right out in front of me. Locked up my brakes and skidded to a stop about a foot from hitting her rear bumper.

Now I want to buy blaze orange or lime green shirts. Anybody know where to buy these shirts? Tia

 

I've heard that people will actually fix on blaze orange/green and drift towards you. Glad you didn't bite it.

 

You can buy one of those safety vests, they are like orange and green.

 

Who ever invents a device that can actually get the attention of stupid, dumbed down people will make a fortune.

 

Someone did invent it. It's called a baseball bat. But according to some, it is politically incorrect to use it on such occasions where sheer stupidity prevails.

 

I read somewhere here on the forum that louder pipes could have prevented this....

Fleet Farm sells them over here. They are back in the work clothes section (where the Carharts are). If I recall, they are $15 to $30, depending how heavy you want. I have a mesh green with velcro on the front, use it over my rain gear.

 

If you are looking for a high visibility vest, cheap, try Harbor Freight. They carry several variations and most are around $6. I have one that is lime green/orange that just slips over my riding jacket and secures with two small velcro tabs. The zippered ones hold up better but this one works fine for the price.

I keep it in one of bags so that if I want to take off my lime green wind/waterproof jacket to get more air on a warm ride I can just slip into the vest to keep my vis up.
