Default low end loss with new exhaust

I'm new to motorcycles and just bought a 2014 Fat Bob and I hate how quiet this bike is. I am looking at getting a set of vance and hines shortshots and a buddy told me I will lose a lot of low end. What I am wondering is if these come with baffles will it help, if not can the low end be tuned out to result in minimal loss or even increase?

Thanks for any help

They are pretty much looks and sound. A good tune will help a little,or you can lower your gearing to increase revs.

I am wanting the sound and I do enjoy the looks actually. Some of these systems they have out on the market are very awkward looking to me haha. I was thinking of doing a 2 into 1 as well as I am leaning towards performance and sound honestly. What would you recommend? The tuning will be pretty easy for me as I have a buddy who owns a shop and does a lot of dyno tuning, he tunes his own bikes for dirt track and ice racing.

Anything you add will not only improve the sound but also the performance.
Plenty of reading to do on this subject right here on this forum.

Take a hard look at quite baffles as compared to the OEM. The quite baffles look like plugs to me. You friend also may be talking about the lack of engine brake fill with the open exhaust.

That isn't necessarily true. Drag pipes, for example, will move your powerband to the upper end of the RPM range. That's fine if you're at WOT all the time, but in the twisties or downtown, you'll probably feel less power.

I replaced the stock exhaust with set of V&H Short Shots on a 2002 Super Glide. I didn't notice any loss in low end grunt. As a matter of fact after the A/C swap and a re-jet I think it gained some power. But that was on a carb bike, may be different with fuel injection.
