Default Part fitment help on '12 Ultra

Hello everyone! I'm new to HD forums and pretty much to HD in general.I've been on street bikes for years so I went to the extreme opposite end of the spectrum and I bought a '12 Flhtcu in September. It is my first Harley. I was actually looking for a Street Glide but I found this at a good deal instead.
I am getting a quick detach kit for the TourPak for all the time I'll ride without my lady BUT my question is... is there some kind of comprehensive fitment guide between models somewhere out there?
To start I want to take off the touring seat and put on maybe a stock Street Glide seat when the TourPak is off.
I don't know the differences between model chassis and fitment issues well yet and I keep finding conflicting info. Thank you everyone and ride safe!

Go to the touring section and you will get some answers there. Also try doing a search as there are many threads on that. Good luck on finding the info you need.

The seats from any touring bike will fit. There are some year limitations. Welcome to the HD family.

You'll find that a whole bunch of the parts on the Touring bikes will interchange with one another. They're basically the same frame with different tins.

sounds good I figured as much but every now and then I'll talk to someone who says seat "x" won't fit or seat "y" might fit and i plan to just buy a used stock seat that someone swapped out and didn't want to be stuck with it ...thanks all

I've done what you want to do to my '12 FLHTCU. Swapped out the couch for a '15 Streetglide seat, traded the rear shocks with a SG owner that wanted the extra travel, removed about 50 lbs of unwanted chrome, quick disconnect on the tourpack, short windshield, etc.
Good luck & have fun!
