hey guys
does anyone know the vivid black paint code for the company Sikkens?

Ive found dupont and ppg but the shop I was going to take my 1/4 fairing to uses Sikkens, they said if I can bring in another piece they can scan the paint to match it but I figured if I have the code it'll make life way easier

 

Not sure about the paint code, but I ran a shop which used Akzo Nobel Sikkens. Top notch paint. There is no metallic in Vivid Black so it shouldn't be hard to figure out which code it is.

EDIT: Black is black as long as there is no metallic in it.

 

The HD Vivid Black paint code is 98609 DH, which I believe is a PPG code, not sure how you cross reference that to Sikkens Brand other than shoot a sample from Sikkens & check it against the Vivid Black...

 

Have them scan it to make sure you get a color match. There are tons of different black paints now a days.

 

I emailed sikkens asking as well. Maybe they'll have it.
Its weird I could find dupont, ppg and sherwin williams but not sikkens!

Does the scanning usually take very long? I dont really have anything easily removable on the bike right now.... but my friend has his rear fender off right now so I might borrow that to take to the shop haha

 

Lots of shades of black even without metallic in it... sikkens has a black that is as dark as black comes Harley vivid black is pretty dark also

 

Scanning the part only takes a few minutes.

 

I havent had a chance to go look yet, but the fender Id use to take to the shop for scanning is off a 2015 Breakout FXSB

will that be the same Vivid Black?
