Default Going solo

For years I've had a passenger pillion, back rest and luggage rack on the back of my 2006 Fatboy. My wife busted her leg real bad a few years ago and now says she will no longer ride with me or on a bike of her own.

I'd like to get a solo seat. Any recommendations? I kinda' like the ones I see that Danny Gray makes. The Buttcrack looks good to me. The name sounds painful though

When you remove the pillion seat, what hold down the rear of the solo seat. Is there another threaded hole under that area like you have on the stock pillion seat.

I have a modified Mustang seat on my Shovel. It has two tabs on either side that line up with the crossbar at the top of the frame above the swingarm. Insert goes inside that bar and bolts. Welded the hole in the fender shut right before I painted it. Smooth as hell.

That sucks to hear about your wife.if mine stopped riding with me, most of the fun would be gone, since she's my navigator and companion on rides, which makes it a lot less boring for me.

There's probably a hole there in the right spot, but nothing in it.
It's there for a special HD "Fender nut",, I'm not sure, but I think it's installed from the top with no need to pull/lift the fender.
Ask/see a dealer parts guy.

I changed my LaPera bare bones gel seat for the DG buttcrack on my Softail and don't regret it. I like the full leather because it gives you some grip in the seat rather than a slippery feel I got on the LePera vinyl. The slight rise in the buttcrack area took me a few miles to get used to but now it feels like it should be there and goes unnoticed after a few short hops around town.

Yeah I got them at the dealership, they are allen head bolts that go through the tabs on the seat and into the frame. Mine had plugs in them were the threads are so I didnt even know they were there at first.

Mustang or C&C would be my recommendations.

I removed my passenger portion from my stock seat on my 03 fatboy. There are two screws. One on each side that hold the seat on.

Last year Saddleman came out with a solo get seat with a built in slot for a back rest.

I got one and went on a couple 2 and 4K tours. It was the best seat that I have had. Went 200 miles non stop in Nebraska and when I got off I was like I only went around the block.

But every one is different and what works for one may not work for another.
