Finally used to the whole '6' thing on a H-D
Seven weeks and 350 miles later, I've finally gotten accustomed to shifting to sixth, and seeing the green 6 on the speedo. This '07 Deuce is my 5th H-D, but first with a 6-speed.
I was familiar with sixth gear on my Buells, but it took some getting used to on a big twin. I still find myself kicking it back down to fifth unless I'm over 70 and smooth sailing.
Old habits die hard ... Or that's how I rationalize it at least!

Thanks, Guys. I didn't leave home thinking I'd buy a Deuce, or a white bike ... But it just grabbed me when I saw it. I think it was just years (started in '93) of only having five speed H-Ds that kept me from even thinking of shifting up past that. I do prefer a little higher RPM versus lugging it. I didn't know that the speedo had a '6' that lights up. The first time I shifted to 6th, I thought the green indicator was a warning light or something. Couldn't hardly slip on my reading glasses while cruising down the highway ...
