Default First Ride of the Year...

Man...it sure felt good!!

0 degree C (32 F) and only about 200km (125 miles) but geez...riding the mc in February after more than 3 months away from it??
It may not seem like much for the folks who live in the south and who ride all year round (and believe me, I'm damn envious) but for those of us who live in the frozen North...gotta love it...

I know what you mean. It was nearly 50* (F) here on Sunday and I could not sit still any longer. Dry and cool, with snow on the ground, but not on the roads. I only got about 45 minutes' ride, but it seemed much longer, given the looooong winter. Only worry is the dust from the salt used on the roads, but it seemed like the regular traffic of the previous few days had removed all of that...at least enough to mitigate the risk enough for me to get out. Now it's back to winter temps for a few weeks, but that 45 minutes really helped a bad attitude. Ride safe!

Ahhhhh yes..... did our first ride yesterday. 150 miles, from the house down tpo Danville Pa. 60+ deg and was on the road from 1100 am to 530 pm. What a difference a tank of fuel, warm weather and a smooth ride make on your attitude......LOL

I've never watched the weather so much than this Winter, my first with a motorcycle. If I see some warm weather moving in I hope for a good rainstorm first so that the roads are ready.

And yeah, definitely a mental lift.

Yeah kcm...living where we can ride all year is nice. We may have times where it's freezing of raining for a few days but it clears up and warms up. I don't think it ever got below freezing this last winter.

Rode in to work yesterday, definitely improves my attitude for a Monday.

Rain moving in today. It seems like it is an every two to three day pattern of heavy downpours.

Yeah... you guys in the south..... gotta love it...
I'm actually planning a ride to Dallas in May from here and also hoping to make it to the Alabama rally on the return - an 8 week long ride (I have a very understanding wife).

And seriously looking at buying a house in Kissimee and staying there for our 6 months of cold weather...renting it to the all the Disney tourists for the rest of the year. Had enough of this cold s**t.

I'm glad I got the year's first ride out of the way on 1 Jan. I don't think I could have waited much longer without causing strife in the household. Driving cars depress me. I feel like I'm in a cage (pun intended).

I've lived in the cold north, to include Fairbanks, AK, and the mountains of Korea. Winters suck - that's why I live in the south now that the Army can no longer tell me where I will live.

We have all 4 seasons around my parts but luckily in the winter it's rare to go more than a week or two without getting a weather break where I can ride.
