Default H-d upgrade 103 to 113???

Did a search here for "113" and nothing new or special came up and did the same on H-D.com and nothing came up.

Anyhow, on my way home from Daytona I went by my dealer and he had a new 2016 RGS on the showroom floor with supposedly (according to the salesman) a H-D factory upgrade on the 103 to a 113. The primary cover had a big "113" on it and there was a printed "CNC Heads" also on the engine. I don't recall reading anything on this forum about it and was just looking for info.

All they did was install the 113" upgrade kit on a OEM 110" motor. As far as I know you can't take a 103" up past 110" without first splitting the cases

No indication of it being a 110 motor. I thought the upgrade for the 110 is the new 117 upgrade.

The 113 upgrade has been around for several years. It is the 4.060" bigger bore cylinders and pistons, on a 4 3/8 stroke bottom end, as used in the TC96/103/110 . It's the same bore as used in the 120r motors, which has a 4-5/8 stroke. You need to have the cases bored for the larger spigots.

The new 117 upgrade is the 4.125 bore, set up as a bolt on for 110 motors, and requires no case boring in that application.

I've got a set of 113 cylinders and pistons sitting on the shelf in my shop, along with the CNC ported matching heads. Set up at about 10.5 compression, it's a good motor for a heavy touring bike.
