Default Harley Davidson Dunlop D401 Tires

Does anyone know the characteristics of this tire? Is it ridiculously hard?

I've got it on the back of my Fatboy, and with the motor build I've got now, I can't get it to hook up when I'm on the throttle hard. I've got the 211 cams, and once I hit around 3500 rpm and the power begins to come on, it's not long before the tire begins to spin in 1st - 3rd gear. This is no matter how warm the tire is.

Can anyone suggest a tire that will hook up and still provide somewhat adequate life?

Hook up????????

FWIW I gave up running HD Dunlops years ago as they are crap IMO.
Dunlop American Elites or E-III's would be my suggestion.

I've heard good things about Commander II's but I haven't tried them myself.
