Default need advice onbreakout 103cu cam & heads

I was looking to have my cams installed, but was advised to have head work done or don't bother. Port and polish factory heads an option, or buy aftermarket? Any advice?

Don't bother. Leave it stock. It's a great bike just the way it is. The before and after difference is mostly only perceived by those that have spent the money. Put 10K-20K miles on it in the next couple/few years and then decide. Like you haven't spent enough already?

That's my advice, since you asked.

Enjoy a great machine.

I had cams done last year. This year I did, stage 1.5 heads and dyno tune. Night and day difference.

Which cam are you going with

Port and polish is what I'd do. I did 555 cams on my Fatboy few years ago because the engine got tore down anyway. Just couldn't swing the heads at the time. Just didn't feel like much of an improvement over stock. This was also going from 96" to 103". Heads really help breath.
