Default Rear brake line install 2001 softail

Hey all.
Thought I would try this post here, since I'm not getting any feedback from the 'mechanical' section....

I recently added 2"+ forward controls to my scoot, splicing into the original brake line (as a temporary fix). I have now purchased a Drag Specialties braided rear brake line and was wondering if anyone out there can give me any install tips (besides the obvious-like not spilling brake fluid all over my bike).

My two main questions are if I need to/should remove the exhaust pipes, and if there is anything I should know regarding the brake light switch.

Maybe it is all pretty straight forward, but I don't want to phuk anything up, so I that I would ask....
Thanks in advance for your constructive opinions....
