Default Thinkin about gettin a HD

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum and newish to Harleys.. I just sold my 08 ZX10-R and will probably buy a HD this week, just had a few questions.

Im thinking about getting either the 2016 Slim S or the Breakout, can you guys give me pro's or cons for them?

IMO
2016 Breakout
Looks awesome with that 240 rear tire
Theres really nothing i dont like about the bike except it doesnt come with the 110 engine..

Slim S
Looks great as well but missing 240 rear tire.
110 engine
Cruise Control
Floor boards

Im not sure how much faster the 110 is over the 103 since the 103 has 97 tq vs 109 tq.

Coming off a crotch rocket I would recommend you get the Low Rider S. It's got the 110 engine and its lighter with better suspension.

Yep, just looking at the HD site comparison charts, the LRS with its bigger engine and shorter wheelbase ought to be the more nimble machine. The OP should be advised though that power characteristics, among a great many other things on a HD are "eternally variable". The only sure things in life are death, taxes, and that you'll modify your Harley,, . "Did I mention cams" ? The fact that one machine is a softail and the other a Dyna is probably worth noting. If you like big rear tires, know it is somewhat routine for BO owners to slap on a 888 260 or E3 250 rear when replacing the OEM 240.

Speaking of mods, I know nothing of the LRS and absolutely love my 2014 BO, but in fairness to the OP; the stock BO specs/price obscure the fact that handlebar/mirror, headlight, exhaust, and front suspension mods on this model are that common as to boarder on necessity. This will add to the already heftier price of the BO vs the LRS. If you have the budget for the mods, the BO is a great to ride and very eye-catching machine though.

2016 CVO Breakout has the 110 Engine (if you like the color scheme). I have a 2015 Breakout with stage 1 upgrade and lots of other modifications, plenty fast and nimble for me (and yes I have ridden Sport bikes). You don't buy a Harley thinking it is a sport bike, it isn't and doesn't pretend to be. Love my Breakout, will never get rid of it.

I wouldn't worry about either the 103 or 110. Coming from the bike you are used to there will be a huge performance drop for you anyway.

If you haven't already taken test drives on each you should.

Exactly. Go buy the one you want, not the one these guys want to buy.

If I were you I would go test ride a few. These aren't sport bikes. Make sure you're happy with the performance, ride quality, handling etc.

I know it's not what you are looking for, but when I decided to add a Harley to my other bikes (I historically have mostly ridden sportbikes), I went with the Fat Bob due to it's handling.
