Default Remove Pinstriping From Denim Paint

Had someone pinstripe the SG but have since decided to take it back to stock. Has anyone had luck removing pinstriping from denim paint? I know oven cleaner works on normal paint.

understand, I am not condoning oven cleaner....

but, even though your paint is denim, there is a clear coat over it. it just has flattening agents in it. a lot of people don't know that.

however you do it, you have to be careful when rubbing so you don't buff it to a shine.

I used to work at a sign shop, we would use 3M film cleaner to get old adhesive off without damaging the finnish. Great stuff, my buddy de-badged his new truck with it and said it worked like a charm. Not sure where you would find it though

Denim is very easy to Damage (the one thing I did not like about my denim Lo). I would be very careful applying any harsh products to it. I had a gas stain on the tank of my Lo that I could never get off. Very easy to stain denim.

Another "non expert" chiming in ... While it may be true that there is a clear coat over the black I'm pretty sure that the clear coat is a matte finish which makes it extremely unforgiving when it comes to scratches, bump. bruises and the like. As "Skratch" says I'd be very apprehensive at trying to remove the striping and would ( if you absolutely must ) try in a very inconspicuous spot first. Good Luck

I'd find a well established auto body paint supply shop & see what they have available. I assume you had it done with tape rather than paint. Check 3M website also.

In rereading OP's first post,I believe he had it painted on.I think Op just go with some other tins and try and sell what he has.

Yeah, I think a new set of tins is probably the safest bet.
