Default Sonny Boy Buying My Old Ride

13 years ago when I purchased my '03 Glide I made my son an offer, get your degree as planned and I would give him my '89 Harley. Well he took a break from school and didn't make the cut so I sold the '89. A few years later he is back in school to get his degree and last year got his 1st real job as an electrical engineer for Duke Energy. The last few years he started asking me to make him a deal on my old bike I have been letting him ride on trips the last 4 years.

I am proud to say that today he is buying Ol Blue from me and carrying on the family tradition of Harley Davidson ownership and fellowship. The old pic is him on the tank when he was 2 or 3. The others are the '03 he is buying today and how it has changed since new.

I know your sons strategy! He delayed his education so he could get the bagger! Ha Ha!

great story. Congrats to your son not only for the bike, but for getting his career and education in order.
Sounds like he's got his head screwed on right.

An electrical engineer is a real good thing to have handy. Make part of the deal cash plus he tracks down and repairs any electrical gremlins from now until he inherits your last bike.

Buy him a Simpson meter for Christmas.

Yes Purdue and I still have my '13 Limited. Upside is I will have a little more room in the garage now. Just got back from BMV and learned he dis not have to pay any sales tax as he purchased from the ol'man.
