Default Made an anchor point for bungee cords.

My 2015 Ultra lacks the metal passenger grab rail which was convenient for strapping down a dufflebag or extra helmet. After a few minutes of head scratching thought I came up with a solution. Bought some bolts, spacers and washers and created a great place to hook a bungee cord or cargo net. Removed the passenger seat grab strap and stuck the assemblies in the vacated screw holes. I posted details in the DIY MODS" and TRICKS to SAVE $$$$$$" section (message #1851) of the Touring Models forum. Or you can go here and see it on my webpage.

Nice mod. I have an old singer treadle sewing machine. Took light weight nylon strap and sewed a double ended loop. Thread around frame rails and instant bungee holder! Just another thought.

NOW ya tell me about those things! I spent about half that amount of money on the hardware and the other half on gas going to the hardware store. Guess I broke even money-wise...but I always enjoy building stuff myself.

Now that I nosed around the internet I see that the Motor Company sells 'em, too.

I've seen bungee bolts. The link just shows cap nuts. How we supposed to mount to what type of bolts?
These nuts need threads to attach

Simple solution, you buy the bungee nuts in the correct thread pitch & size for the bolt you are going to replace and pick up a short piece of all thread the same. You loctite the the all thread into the nuts and with a hacksaw you cut it to the right length for the bolt you pulled out, clean the end a bit with a file or grinder and instant bungee bolt. Been using that trick on bikes for several decades now....

All thread..a must in a backyard mechanics Erector set LOL
Our old iron and shovels had the acorn nuts on the outside so easy off/on
Some other bikes all ya had to do was put the bolt in backwards and cap it on the outside.

All my fender strut bolts and the shock studs have gotten the bungee nut/bolt treatment, roadtrips and luggage teach you all kinda need expedient engineering.
