Friend of mine said there are luggage like liners for the hardbags on the tour models, so basically you can lift them out and not have to repack your stuff into a bag if you stay at a hotel.

anyone hear of these?

Check "Fitment" to make sure you have the correct liners for your bike.
I believe there are different liners for different bikes.

I saw some in the JP Cycles catalog last night for $20.

 

I got a set off Craigslist for $40.

 

Google is your friend. Lots of different kinds out there, different brands and prices. Mine are mid-grade and they've held up pretty well - they're starting to split at the seams a little but nothing some vinyl repair can't handle.

 

Things are great and really handy!

 

Bought the HD ones myself last year. Definitely nice to have.
