Default How I fell in Love with Harley Davidsons

Well, back in 1980, while I was at a Honda/Harley dealer, (yes, they used to allow them to both be sold in the same building), I saw this 1981 Low Rider and fell in love. Too bad I had already bought a bike and was making payments.
I asked for a dealer's brochure and still have it.

I thought this was a really nice looking bike.

Some may not be so happy since it was an AMF bike.

Here is the part of the brochure on this bike. The brochure shows all the models they sold in 1981 also.

I thought I would share this with you.

If I get a chance, maybe I can scan another model from that year.

No, never did.

But I have had a Sportster 1200 Custom, an Ultra Classic, a Softail Custom, a Super Glide Custom, and now have a Ultra Limited. Looks like I have had a wide range of bikes to cover different ranges of riding.

Tramontin Harley Davidson has been in business for 101 years .Low Rider is still one Nice looking Bike . Glad Moco decided to make a lowrider S model ,I think it will be a good seller .

I like the way they described it as "80 cubic inches of highballin Harley". Now were up to 110 ci and counting. It was around this time frame that I wanted a bike as well but being the Marines only paid me $300 a month that was out of the question.

Thanks for that. I was in love with that era's Wide Glide. Post that part of the brochure, please.

Also, did they put MSRP in those brochures? I'd like to see some prices if you have them.

Thanks again.

A Bronson Ironhead like this when I was a kid went a long way to sparking my lifetime love for Harley-Davidson and Sportsters.
