Default What are these?

I've got these quick release brackets on my windshield and I can't figure out what those round wire pieces are for. They don't seem to clip in anywhere. Any ideas?

If they weren't bent back they would clip over the mount and sort of help secure the windshield. Then in principle you would grasp the side of the windshield and place a finger through the holes and pull back, thus releasing the windshield from the mount.

They should go over the bushings holding the windshield on...if they Don't then loosen the bolt and bend them back towards the bushings.....that's how the winshield locks on.

The lower, 'U' pushes behind the bushings to help secure the wind screen.

OK I see what you're saying but I don't see how they go over the bushings. I'm pretty dense so maybe I just aint looking at it right or something.

This guy doesn't even acknowledge their existence

And this guy says they don't do anything

I saw him for a second put his finger into the wire ring and lift up while pushing the shield back. Must put pressure on the grommet he mentioned.

looking at your pictures I see that
your wire clips need to be adjusted so they do rest on top of the rubbers when the shield is on, the wire clips do not do much for holding the shield on but they help as if you were parked and a wind came up from behind. The Brukus actually do lock the shield on, it will not come off without tools and makes a great anti theft device.
