Default Is "dry" bottom end any different than a "wet" bottom?

Looking at purchasing this lower end as a starting point for a Fuel Moto 113" engine build, using wet jugs and heads. (Yes the jugs on Twin Cooled bikes are slightly different than on air cooled models). To be installed in the bike in my sig pic. Gonna send the bottom out for a Dark Horse crank job to handle 140+ lb. tq.

So wanted to know if a 11, 12, 13, bottom end would be compatible with 14, 15 wet jugs and heads, and installed on a Twin Cooled bike?

Any reason it won't bolt up and work?

are you sure about that? i looked at the fiche for a 2016 ultra classic twin cool and it shows the part number for the cylinders as 16547-99A, showing that this part has been in use since 99, well before the twin cool came out.

Hmmm, I this is what a tech at Fuel Moto told me, but I guess he could be wrong.

The same jugs provided that it is for the same displacement engine. 103 are all the same as the 110 jugs are the same for wet or dry. The 117 kit for the 110's are the same whether they go into a Dyna S 110 or a wet head CVO 110.

There is zero plumbing in the jugs. The coolant is pipped to the head and from head to head back to the radiators.

My source is the Service Manager at my dealership and he is know to be one of the top HD engine builders going.

Twin cooled cylinders have a pad for the head gasket surface that is not there on the air cooled cylinders. The reason current HD part numbers show them the same as HD as superceded them so current product can work on both models. While you can use twin cooled cylinder with an air cooled head: unless you have the newest generation cylinder from HD you cannot use a air cooled cylinder with a twin cooled head.

BTW, the lower end you are looking at would work with the appropriate twin cooled top end no problem.

Really good insightful info. Just what I was looking for. Thanks. My parts will begin showing up on your doorstep this fall. Looking forward to this build.
