Headed out for the Laughlin River Run
Leaving tomorrow afternoon for the short (100 mile), ride from Tucson up to my buddies place in Mesa. We will spend the night there and depart Mesa around 0900 so that the worst of the morning Phoenix commute is laying down. Only 256 miles to Laughlin from Mesa and most of that will be on 93 {which is pretty good road}, as we head north to connect with I-40 just east of Kingman. From there its's easy ride down through Bullhead City, across the river to the Tropicana where we have reservations for Wednesday/Thursday nights.
Plan on taking off around mid day Friday and heading south to/through Lake Havesu, Parker and Quartzite before heading home on Saturday morning. Suppose to rain on Thursday in Laughlin (I don't care), but clearing by Friday morning.
We could not take this type of trip before as we had an old doggie but sadly we had to put her down a couple of weeks ago....sigh, it was soo hard to do.
This will be my brides first overnighter on the Dyna SG but she has logged lots of miles including some 250+ mile days. The Leather Lyke bags and Top Case will swallow all that we need to bring and she is as excited as I.
Should be a great event, can't wait to see the Chuckleheads from the Westborough Baptist Church get their lunch... Went to the vintage MC Show yesterday down at the Barrio Brewing company in Tucson and had a blast, hundreds of bikes of all ages, shapes, sizes and brands but it was nothing compared to what awaits in Laughlin.
For those of you who have "been there done that" suggestions gratefully accepted.
