I would say you need to keep in mind that you steer a trike (no leaning) so leverage is important. Seems to me, the higher the bars = less leverage.

And welcome aboard!

Hmm, seems to me the opposite. The higher the bars = more leverage.

Just think about this:
Once your hands/grips go above your shoulders it will be very difficult to push or pull the handlebars.

I certainly wouldn't want to ride that trike.

Had 16s on my Springer for a while. Old age set in and my hands would go numb after about 10 minutes of riding.

In my most humble opinion, Apes that tall are for choppers, you are riding a cruiser now

I love love love tall apes but have not put a set on the free for just the reason others have stated . At 80 MPH on I90 W going from Drummond , MT to Missoula, MT there are some serious turns that require locking your arm via the push / pull technique. I am not sure high apes would let me do that correctly. I guess if your tall enough you could probably still get decent leverage. I am 5'9 with long arms and I don't think anything over 14 inches would be a good idea. If you do decide to do the mod with high apes please post your trike handling experiences I would be interested to know.

This is where I was coming from in my post. But to each his own!
