Last time I rode was a week ago. Short hour and half ride. Came home, put the scoot in the garage and didn't really look at it again till yesterday when I noticed the left side riders footboard insert was gone. Can't believe that I didn't notice it when it fell off or that it feels strange without it there. When I checked the right side I was surprised how easily it just popped off the base. Its the OEM Bar & Shield style on my Deluxe.
Anyone else had this experience?

 

I nearly lost one last summer in Michigan. Not the same style as yours, but it was hanging by a thread. A pocket knife and a couple zip ties kept it on for another 1200 miles to get home.

 

The base on mine is attached with bolt and nut. The inserts are only attached to the base with rubber grommets.
