Weird damage... Explanation needed...

Default Weird damage... Explanation needed...
Has anyone had this happen to them??? The exhaust tip split in half lengthways. No hit or anything, just happened suddenly while riding. The sound of the exhaust suddenly changed and I stopped to find it this way...

Can anyone explain??? It's a HD exhaust tip.

Are you pulling it farther apart?
I could be wrong but it looks like the tip is bent to the right. Like something hooked it.

Yep, I'd agree with maybe the weld broke. How about a pic of the good side for comparison?

Looks like you backed into a curb and popped the weld.

Yes I'm pulling it apart to show how it split. The tip isn't bent. Nothing hooked it or hit it

If you didn't damage it in any way, poor materials, construction or installation are all that remain.

Remember that Chinese toothpaste that they found out was bad?
Apparently, recycling it into a binder for H-D pipes wasn't the answer.
