Default A few finance questions

I am looking into financing a Street Glide purchase....I know I will pay a higher rate due to my credit. I have a Discharged Chptr 7 BK from 4 years ago but flawless payment history since then and debt to income ratio is great.I figure I will bite the bullet for a year then refinance it.

A few questions I have:

1) Is it better to apply at the dealership or online through HD?

2) Alot of these Harley dealers all over the US who say they are better at poor credit loans do they deliver or is it you go to them?

3)Anyone happen to know any good dealers in the Ohio area that do well with poor credit?

Save your money until you can pay cash for the bike, if that's not possible though you might check other places than just the dealership to see who can give you the best rates

I would look into credit unions and banks to see if you could get a lower interest rate. When I bought mine I financed through Hd and negotiated my interest rate. If they really want you business, they will work on a rate

Don't you have to have an account at the local credit unions?

I'd check out a credit union. They typically offer the best rates.

Put in $50 to open an account. Close account when you can. Not going to loose the money and get a smaller interest rate

I belong to 3 and I think they only required 5 bucks in a saving account.

You shop for your bike, you also shop for financing.
Sometimes the dealer has a line to lenders that will speed your shopping for a lender over you doing it yourself.

I just financed thru my dealer when making the purchase.

They hooked me up with a local credit union.
I had them calculate the loan based on different down payment amounts at 48 months.
I chose what I believed to be the best monthly payment.

You can have your dealer do the same.

It is my opinion that however you may finance you should be diligent about making your payments on time and rebuild your credit along the way.

Good luck to you.
