Default Swing Left to make a right turn

Just cuz I read the Double yellow line thread.

How many of you swing to the left when making a right turn. Now I'm not talking about APEXing a turn, I talking swinging way left and even into the next lane to the left before turning right.

Cages do this a lot, but then, I've seen plenty of 2 wheelers doing it as well.

I've only ever seen 18 wheelers or anyone pulling a trailer do this, for obvious reasons. I don't know why anyone in a car would need to or even want to.

To answer the question; no, I do not, on my bike or in my car.

@ Corpitos..thought I'd chime in. I take pride in my motorcycle skill, tight turns and one lane u-turns here, and never ever flip someone off. *chuckles

Unless you are driving a tractor trailer / eighteen wheeler or pulling a long trailer or something there is no reason to do it unless you don't know how to ride or drive.

I can't tell you how many times I have nearly crashed because someone in the oncoming traffic veers into my lane prior to making a turn. I especially hate it when they do it in a small car. Makes me want to drop my Jeep down to four wheel and run their stupid *** over.

I understand it is necessary at times in a big sugar cane truck, but a Geo Metro?

I've seen cars do it and wonder if they're used to pulling trailers. Kind of silly if you ask me.

Short of pulling a trailer people doing this are just announcing to the word that they are brutal drivers

I've seen cars do it, usually driven by old ladies with bad habits.

It's a head on collision waiting to happen. Really bad, bad, habit. Don't.

Making a right turn, in traffic, on 2 wheels, I try not to give up my lane and encourage some dumb azz to take off my left leg. Usually, I hold the center of my lane

Misunderstood question. Thought it was about making a right turn off a 2 lane road. No, I stay between the lines.

Unless you're talking about countersteering, no - I do not swing into an opposite lane when turning.

Why would you intentionally move yourself into another lane, esp. in a turn, unless the intention was to change lanes? Why would you intentionally change lanes during a turn? If you are unable to maintain your lane during a turn, you've got some training/practicing to do. People that are unable to maintain the proper lane during turns is one of my pet peeves.
