Default Front master cylinder seal/boot install

Hi all,rebuilding my front brake master cylinder, its a 1995 model year. Having trouble getting the seal/boot in place, any tips?I watch a you tube video, he used a spark plug socket and clamp to push it home, but this is not working for me. Thanks peeps,Steve

Just did mine last week.I had trouble with the seal/boot too,after the first try I took it back apart. The problem was the buildup of dirt or sealer in the grove where the seal stops. With the help of my pocket knife and a pick it went back together easy. Yes with a spark plug socket. Larcus

Did you clean the caliper thoroughly???

Thanks, calliper was thoroughly cleaned, striped, repainted before trying get seal in. There is no crud where the seal goes.
Will have another go see how I get on.

Did you put any caliper grease on it or are you trying to assemble it dry?

Using silicon brake which is quite slippery.
