Worst Thing You Almost Hit On Your Bike?
My Dad & I were riding down in Big Bend back in 1995. Neither of us had been there before and didn't pay much attention to the signs "Free Range"......didn't even know what they meant. The roads are often long straight stretches with an occasional small hill. I was on a Honda ST1100, my Dad was on a Vulcan 750 and we were cruising along about 70-75 mph. I was in front when we came up on one of those small hills and just as I crested the hill, there were 2 of the biggest bulls I've ever seen, one in each lane. I was right in front of those suckers faster than a crow on a curly fry. I barely stopped within 15-20 feet of them and my Dad barely behind me. They stood there about 10 seconds and just walked off the road.

10 at night, took the freeway because the back roads are so dark. 65 or so in the middle lane and caught brake lights in an evasive move about 100 yards ahead. In my mind I figured I was going to have to deal with the aftermath if he loses control. Full size sofa across my lane...luckily I was in the left track and practice counter steering. Still came closer to hitting it than I thought I would. But it was a big, soft, cushy couch...would have been a nice, soft landing, right?

In my case. I didnt miss, I hit. This last weekend, making a U turn got close to the square cement curve of the curb, thought I was clear so I straightened out and brought the bike upright, only to find my Right underside to of my bike was firmly on top of the cement curb. I ground along trying not to drop the bike, seeing as I was straight, but leaning. i got off eventually and took a quick look to see if anyone had seen it, like the popo. Got home and took a look. Lots of cement dust all over the right side of the bike. A look underside said I'd be needing a new front header exhaust shield, and a new floorboard support. Looks like some one took an angle grinder to it down there. I was pissed, that I did that..

I was on a Trip with my Son 2 yrs ago and as we rounded a turn in Missouri I saw a Rock as big as a Marble.... I though OMG as I hit it,, dead on.. But to my surprise my Heritage saved me from being injured and just keep going.......I said to myself..-- TG for that one...
Almost hit ----lets see.... how about I almost hit a car head on as I passed 6 or7 other bikers when I was doing about 115,, and I'd had more beers than I should have had.....now that was about 46 yrs ago//

Full 4'x8' sheet of plywood flipped up off the back of a truck, 2 of us riding side by side doing 70mph about 5 cars lengths behind it. Though we both had bought it but the damn thing turned sideways and slipped between us somehow. 3 days before I could take a dump the *** puckered so hard.

Cow, big wood wire spool rolling about 60mph in my lane, many cars, trees, various small animals, a skydiver (boots missed my helmet by just a few feet). Hit - armadillo (they're made of concrete, or feel like it)and a dog.
Probably closest miss on a bike was the rocks below a bridge. At around 60mph, saw an entire center span was out, and slid to a stop no more than 10' from the edge. Was a long way down, not survivable. Should have seen that sooner, but who looks for a gap in a bridge?
