Default First service - what'd you pay?

Traded the Fat Bob for a brandy-new Road Glide about a week ago. Gonna hit the 1k mark in another week if it ever quits raining here in Texas. Anyhoo, stopped by the service desk and asked what the going rate for the first 1k service was and the writer says "one thousand." I replied back to him, "yeah I know it's at 1,000 miles, but what's it cost?" He looked at me straight on and said "a thousand bucks." I'm thinking that's a little steep for 3-4 hours work. So what'd you pay?

Much less than that if you can do it yourself! Service manual has a lot of info on how to accomplish and lots of help in these forums and YouTube.

That's way to high I don't remember what I paid but I can promise you that's far to high. Also your bike should work in the rain but check your owners manual to make sure

If the dealer says it cost $1000, then ask them to detail all that is included with the service.

All the new motorcycles I bought included the 1st service free.

I want to say my dealer was in the $400 range. I am not sure as do my own service. It is really the only way I have to know 100% that it has been done to my satisfaction.
