Default GRRRRR.... DayMaker Headlights...

$550 lighter due to a blow out of the DAMN headlights. Was on a 3 lane interstate, middle lane, doing the speed limit (Cough, cough) with out any other vehicles around me, and when outta no where I felt what seemed like gravel fly up in my face. Pulled the bike over and looked at the front end. The damn glass on the Day Maker was blown out. Not wanting any more glass in the face, I sat there and pulled the shards from the headlight. Hell, even a trooper pulled over and provided some protection. After I got home I called the dealer I purchased the bike from, and the salesman said it was part of the bike, and it would be under warranty. Cool beans. Took it in and the service department says Harley doesn't warranty it. Make a long story short, the dealership is in the loop and may get Harley to warranty it. Wait till Monday.

I still had to get it installed, for #1, if Harley warranties it, they have to install it, and for#2, I need it for this week end.

And No they don't make a glass replacement.

Any other out there had this happen?

Hope they take care of you. I was in my dealership the other day looking at those until I saw the frickin' price - no way, man. I'm sure they are nice. but 550? My jaw dropped.

Are plastic gravel guards or shields made for the daymakers?

If they let you down you can buy them for a paltry $400 online. Another option is to buy its twin brother jwspeaker version for even less. It's less than 20 min to install and align.

Part of the "Dealer Holdback" on the new bike invoicing pays for set up with a little extra left over for Dealer 'Goodwill.' Perhaps they will take you under consideration.

I use a quartz-halogen. Works amazing and costs $5 to replace. Can buy 'em anywhere.

If I paid that much for an LED head light it would have to be one of the adaptive versions for cornering.

I haven't had it happen yet but I'll keep this in mind.
