Default The Folks at Mustang Seats Must Be Doing Very Well

Disclaimer: Due to business commitments I was unable to ride my Super Glide to Americade.

I want to buy a Mustang Vintage Wide Seat with Backrest. I won't buy it until I try it on for fit on a Dyna.
Mustang Seats has their trailer at Americade.
I drove their today with the intention of buying the seat as long as I can sit on one mounted on a Dyna.

They had the seat I wanted. They had a Dyna (Street Bob). The Dyna had another of their seats installed.

They would not remove the seat and put the Vintage Wide for me to sit on. Nope. No way. Bring my bike and they will install it. I explained that my bike is 275 miles away.

They placed the seat on a stool and told me to sit on it. I said I have no doubt it is comfy. That is why I want one. I want to know if it sits me more forward or further back than my stock seat. Nope. No way. I walked away without a seat and $509.00 still in my wallet.

I have spent the last 42 years of my life bending over backwards to earn the business of a new customer. I am miffed.

Obviously business must be very, very good.

Unbelievable! I would write a letter to their corporate HQ explaining that same story. Did you get a name of the Salesman?

That IS really really weird! I can't imagine why they'd say no... I don't blame you for walking away mad.

FWIW I really love mustang seats, not as much "cool factor" as some of the other after market seat makers but they fit my butt and I'm comfortable on them for a full day in the saddle. But wow, even knowing how much I like them, that kinda treatment would **** me off

That sucks. I can't imagine why they wouldn't do that for you... Seriously wtf?. It literally takes 30 seconds to swap a seat.

I've been thinking about the regular width vintage seat as a replacement for my stock solo seat.

I have a Mustang squareback, but it's a 4 hour seat.

Wow. When I was at Sturgis last year, the guy I was with asked to try a Klockwerks windshield. They couldn't swap it out fast enough for him on his bike so he could take it out for an unescorted test ride.
P.S. Laura Klock is much better looking in person than in the ad pics.

Very odd Harleys are so easy to swap seats on. I think I would call there customer service and if you did not get his name tell them what day and time it was. This makes absolutely no sense.

Guess they don't need your business.
That really sucks!

My main question is the Dyna (Street Bob) that you referred to, do you know if this was one of their tester bikes or was it possibly a customers bike?
If it was one of their tester bikes then shame on them for losing a sale - if it was a customers bike - I know for sure I wouldn't want them using my bike for something like that.
For what it's worth, I have a mustang solo seat on my bike, it's been slightly modified by my local seat guy and I love it.
