You can buy grip glue - various companies , Scott, Renthal, Griplock, etc.
Some people just use soapy water to get the new grip on, and don't use glue. Personally, I wouldn't go that route.

Most modern Harley's do not need glue on left grip since they have a rubber lip that extends into the switch housing. If for some reason you still want to glue it I'll let you in on an old timer's secret. Go to the dollar store and buy the cheapest hair spray you can get like Aquanet. Great grip glue and super cheap.

Cyanoacrylate aka; Cray glue.
A few drops or a bead across the top of the bar works fine. The stuff sticks to the rubber, but not to the steel bars very well (know what I mean?),, it's enough to hold the loose left grip to the bar,, but not so much that you can't twist it off.

When replaced the grips on my 95 Heritage, Avon recommended gorilla glue, so that is what I went with.

It's kinda like rubber cement. Spray some inside the grip and some on the bar, give it a minute or two to get tacky then slip the grip on and let it cure. Friend had a loose grip on his Victory while riding the Dragon last summer. It worked great for him as well.
