Would you pay $2,100 above high retail book value?
There's this 2008 Dyna for sale at a Harley dealer. It's showroom, low miles, but he's asking $2,100 over high retail book value. Also there's no accessories. I don't know how I could ever find another used one as good as this. What if I offered him $1,000 less? Thank you.

Show the salesguy the high retail price. Tell him you will pay that amount plus tax and tag, and not one freaking penny more. Be prepared to walk out if they try to nudge you even $100.
If they let you walk, go back tomorrow and offer them an additional $500. Repeat until you get it. If it sells to someone else, it was never meant to be and start looking again.
Trust me, it is not the only bike out there that is in mint condition. There are tons of garage queens that only get a little rubbing and no riding. Be strong.

It would completely depend on the bike. Would I pay $2000 over book for a 2007 springer classic in Olive Drab? On the spot I would because I want one and they are hard to find. Would I pay $2000 over book for a 2008 Dyna? No chance, those bikes are a dime a dozen and if you watch craigslist you can probably find one with under 10,000 miles in great shape for $4000 less than what the dealer is asking for his.
And as my dad always says, they make motorcycles everyday. You'll find another one if that one sells.
