Default Why so long to get a HD fixed at dealer?

Unreal how long it takes for a dealer to get around to fixing the bike. They get you in, say its just a few days out. Then going into the 3rd week and they still have it. I guess not enough mechanics but it seems to me they could make more money on repairs if they got the bikes in and turn around faster. When I had a Honda back in 05' they were the same way. Glad automakers aren't as slow.

That's one of the reasons I fix my own.

you don't give enough info. what are you having done? maybe they don't have the parts on hand and had to order them and they are on backorder. if you're talking oil change or tire swap, yeah, that's unreasonable. if you're talking major engine rebuild, well, that could have an effect. i'm quite sure the dealership would like nothing more than to have your job complete and paid for so that they could have another job complete and paid for....

If you were famous and/or rich as hell, you would have had it in a few days.

I had the same experience - mechanic couldn't find his left-handed monkey wrench and had to wait for the Snap-On truck to get there the following week so he could replace it...

I slip the service manager a $100 bill and my bike gets done pretty quick.

Well you haven't broke the record yet anyway. Some guy posting on the Indian forum, riding a newer Indian had his motor grenade and they still had his bike in the shop over 3 months now.
