Default Damn Locusts

Here in western pa ( Washington County more specifically) the 17 year locusts are out. I caught one in the forehead today right under my half helmet and above my glasses. I was doing 70mph on interstate 79. Felt like getting hit by golf ball. Have a nice welt and a bruise. The whole right side of my glasses was smeared I couldn't even see out of the right lens. The front of the Ultra looks like a gore movie, green and red guts plastered on my white and silver bike.
Anyone else dealing with these winged bastards right now?

caught one in my knee early last week - doing 75 on the highway here in central ohio.

I had a big ole bruise lasted a couple of days. Helped me decide to use my full face helmet for a while, at least until those suckers are gone.

Funny you should mention that, I just finished washing 300 pounds of locust guts off the bike today. One hit my wife's helmet just above her eyes and smeared guts through her hair. It was a beautiful sight!

May was our grasshopper month. I know one night last year, there were at least 15 bodies on my bike. They sure make a mess when they hit too.

Last Saturday I was walking with the GF in Morgantown, W. Va. (not far from you) and we were totally beseiged by them; they were sticking to our clothes, hair, etc. And, that was in downtown. At my cousin's house near Kingwood, I walked into the bathroom & thought water was leaking; turns out it was the cicadas. Loud as hell.
