Default Air Intake Sound on Shut-down

Hey everyone, and happy Father's Day.

Been riding my 2015 fxdb all weekend and loving it. I installed a big sucker stage 1 intake. I noticed when I shut the bike down it makes a quick suck-in sound. Seems to be coming from the intake area. Its not that noticeable but while turning the bike on and off showing my brother how it sounds, we noticed it. It's actually pretty cool. Is this normal? It's a '15 street Bob.

I think it's normal. My 2009 does it too.

It's because unshrouding the air cleaner you can now hear it.

Yup. You're probably hearing the piston sucking air into one of the cylinders as the engine comes to a stop. Just an educated guess. If you listen closely at idle, you may be able to hear the individual intake events.

Yeah, I put a stock Rushmore intake on mine and can hear it through the big opening on the front of the intake.

Mine does it too but only once in awhile. But mine sounds more like a cough than anything else.

Yes, its normal.

Remember, your engine is just an "air pump"

Once you open up the factory air filter, the sound is much more pronounced.
