De-catting: Why no codes?
I've been reading some about removing the catalytic converter on my 2011 Street Glide. What I haven't seen is any explanation as to why this wouldn't generate some kind of code? I've seen reference to something called "cross talk" between the O2 sensors which may or may not exist, but nothing about emissions systems generated codes.
I'm pretty sure if I removed the cat from my car, there'd be codes out the wazoo. What's the deal?

the o2 sensors on your bike are upstream of the cat, no post o2 sensor to report back to the ecm. in the auto world there are two sensors ,one before the cat and one after. they send a signal back to the ecm and if it isn't within spec it thinks the cat is not working and it will throw a code. hope this makes sense to you.
