Default I can't believe it took 2 hours....

I went to swap out the slip on mufflers on my Ultra Limited.
I figure....
Remove Saddlebags,
Loosen the main muffler pinch bolt on each side,
Remove the two rear bolts on each side holding the mufflers on,
Slide them off and slide the new ones on, install and tighten the bolts.
Install the saddlebags.....

Maybe 45 min job.

2 Hours it took me.....darn right muffler would not come off. It would move all around and even spin....but would not come off.
Eventually it did.

What a job!

What did it take to get it off? Did you try some lube? Or did you just beat it off.

It appears that you need a bigger hammer in your tool box.

There's a trick to it. Grab the end of the muffler. Pull it up and down (12 to 6,) and stretch the joint that way. Then go horizontally (9 to 3,) for a little bit. Back and forth. Then repeat. After about 3 minutes of this exercise, pull the muffler off.

But getting it done yourself is worth it!
Get to drink beers, bond with the bike, save money, and...have some pride that you did it when it's done!

I feel your pain, it took me 4 hours to find the right combination of swivels and snaking my arm around engine parts to get one spark plug changed. Could not see it, all by touch. This old boy won't be doing that job again.

You could spend two hours doing worse things. How do the news ones sound?
