Default Ever bought a ride from just the pictures on-line?

I've been looking for a good deal on a RK. I think I have found one that an out of state dealership has, provided they except my offer. Has anyone here ever bought from a picture without physically seeing the ride? What has been your experience?

Only if I felt like gambling. I would never gamble with a Dealer, the house always wins.

What's the risk if you go to the dealer to buy it and pick it up?

I bought my last bike (19 grand) over the phone, unseen. It was brand new and the first bike being delivered in my area. I wanted it.

A good dealer shouldn't screw you over. If it's a new bike I wouldn't worry. A used bike I'd be a little more worried.

I did it with my '09 Ultra. The picture was the one I use as my avatar. Whole deal done on the phone 1000 miles from home.

It would not be my first, or second, or third choice of buying a bike...

No, I would not. I'm the type that has to look and touch.

Three weeks ago I bought a ’12 RK on a photo from a dealer. In the past 5 years I bought an AC Cobra on a Forum without seeing it and another show bike off E-Bay. Always talked to the sellers, but that was it. I just sold a show car (’38 Chevy) from a photo to a guy in Germany who never saw it. I have always been happy with my results. I figure I joined the Army after a briefing and I married my x-wife knowing her for a couple of years……those were the only transactions I really took a beating on. It's easy enough to check the reputation of a dealership on line.
