Sorry, but you would have to be nuts.

FWIW, I paid $8000 (cash) for my 2000 Ultra Classic with 22K on it and it was a damn near immaculate garage queen. Almost 60K on it 4 years later with no issues.

You asked for advice, we gave it to you. It's up to you whether or not you listen to it.

I wish you well.

Negative, bad deal. Plenty of lower mile bikes out there and you throwing in MORE money for an older more worn bike is not worth it at all.

The RG trade in value is $1300 higher than the VRod retail. Retail to retail comparison is almost $5490. Sure lots of miles...But that's a lot of scratch to leave on the table. If everything else looks good, I'd offer straight trade and then have cash to freshen or replace engine should you have issues. But an 01 has the good stuff in the bottom.

Buyers market right now.

Sounds like a crap deal, and if you have a bad knee a bigger heavier bike may not be a good idea

Thanks for asking that question Dickey-I was wondering wtf he was talking about.I don't like v-rods,but it still sounds like a crap deal. Even trade, maybe yeah. I have no idea what the v-rod[on the real market] is worth though.

Not a good deal. Like others have mentioned one is sitting in a garage collecting dust that has your name on it
