Default What is my sportster worth?

I have a 2006 1200c sportster with 19,515 miles on it...saddlebags,windshield and screaming eagle pipes...payoff is now $4900...is this something I can sell and payoff the entire loan?...took it harley dealer and they didnt quote me a price and said they would work it in on trade...can I sell it for what I owe to private owner? Or is it worth less

Check the local Craigslist and cycle trader for that year and model regular for several weeks to get a feel for prices and whats moving and what isn't. Good luck , pricing is a local thing so what may be good here may be outrageous there.

In Philly it's worth about $4k in a private sale if it's well maintained. Accessories bring very little added value and you are better off selling them separately.

I'd say your borderline,,
Listen to Twizted and check the local market. Sadly the market is flooded with used Harley's right now. All you can do is try.

You are upside down on your loan. 11 yr old bike is difficult for some buyers to get financed, so you are looking for cash buyers. 20K mileage does not help or hurt. Windshield and other stuff are zero. If you have detailed service records since new from a dealer or Indy, put that in your ad. Consider consigning it to some Indy, they get a lot of traffic.

Unless you are no longer going to be motorcycling, I would hang on to the bike, ride it and enjoy it. With $3500 cash in my pocket I know I could find a willing seller for a bike like yours or nicer. Sorry.

My wife's 04 1200c is for sale since early spring...been asking 4,900 and not a single call.
It's around 11k miles, total garage queen bike, gorgeous deep pearl white paint with custom script lines, lotsa more chrome options, stage 1 in and out, Mustang seat, crash bar, sissy bar, luggage rack.

Yup...mine is priced too high. Yours is newer but looks a tad aged (nomal)

I'd say we gotta be at 4200 or less. 3900 might sell quicker.

It comes down to what it worth vs. what it would sell for. Trying to get the payoff amount would be a stretch. It is a 1200 custom. put it on the market for the $4900, but beware, the potential buyer will try and talk you down. from what I understand, Sportsters don't hold a good resale value, one reason I keep mine, that and I know If I sold it, I would end up buying another one. One thing I notice is, the resale value levels out at some point, right at like 3 grand, and it stays there for a while, I see twenty year old Sportsters priced in the 3 grand range as well as early 70's Iron heads. Also keep in mind people don't have the cash, and if they do, there are plenty of choices out there.

Well if the bike is worth around $3800...i think my best option is to trade it in for a newer bike and hope the dealer is willing to eat some of the remaining balance off when I go to trade it in

Default Trading in for new

As far as trading a 10 year old sportster in for a new..will the dealer give more trade in allowance on a 2016 or 17 bike?
