Default Full Face Helmet

I just bought my first full face helmet and it fogs up when I am stopped. Any tips - is there some kind of anti-fog treatment? Anyone else have this problem?

Hello Mooks,

I believe there is an anti-fogging solution that you can buy. I have seen it before and I know they have it for ski googles and dive masks. I also have a full face helmet but I only wear it on the long high speed runs where there is a lot of debris kicking around. Havent had a fogging problem but the face sheild is supposed to be anti-fogging. Check with your Harley dealer or your favorite motorcycle helmet website to see if they sell the defogger. www.ridegear.com is a pretty good site. Good luck.

Just open up the face shield one notch when stopped.

There is a chemical you can buy at MC shops. When it comes to full face helmets the best thing you can do to help prvent fogging is to get one that is highly vented. The less vents the more fog.

Speedo makes a product that is sold at outdoors and dive shops. Nolan has a special insert and there are several shops and stuff around. I can't remember all of them. You might want to "search" the archives. I mainly just flip it open a notch. Art

Some helmets (like my Shoei X-Eleven) come with a "breath insert" that clips on the inside - just under the faceshield. It redirects your breath downward so that you don't fog up. (Yes, I'm sure I look like a dork riding a Dyna while wearing a fullface racing helmet. So sue me.)

A full face helmet is a time saver for the plastic surgeon who would of had to put your lower jaw back on your face.
