Speedometer / speed sensor
Having a problem with my 06 Sportster 883l speedometer. Think it may be my speed sensor but not sure. Any tricks for testing either or of these before i just buy.

Just pull your speed sensor out and give it a good cleaning. It's easy!!!

I also have a speedometer not working on a bike I just traded for. Think the speedometer is made by VDO. Not looked into it yet. Wait till next year to start on it

If cleaning the sensor didn't work, follow the wires up and look for a plug and clean the connector. One more possibility are the battery cables down to the starter connection. Had Sportster do the same and a cable had corroded thru at the lug, only two strands left, barely got me home.

Wife has an 06 1200L, Speedo stopped working. It was a bad pin connection in the harness plug under the tank
