I don't have a pressure gauge that I can hook up to the bike. I cleaned the IAC with cleaner and Q-tips. The stuff that came out at first was very black. It is now clean. I'll report back tomorrow evening on results. I have to go out of town tomorrow for work but, will be traveling on my bike. I'll let you know the results from the Hotel in Panama City Beach. Thanks for the tip, lets hope it works.

did you toggle the kill switch back and forth doing it?

There is a little puck in there that moves back and forth......if you cleaned it without toggling, you might have only cleaned a small portion of it.
And all that black stuff is oil mist from the breather.

Good luck!!

Yes, several times. It took 6 Q-tips to get all the black off. There won't be any problem with the oil mist any longer. I did the by pass mod a couple of weeks ago.

good deal........good luck.....let me know if it works.......I read so many problems on here about starting and it ends up being the dirty IAC getting stuck.

Well, after a 250 mile mini road trip, cleaning the IAC helped with the bouncy idle but did nothing to help the original issue of starting. Any other ideas?

Trash in the tank blocking fuel inlet.
or
The fuel line junction as it attaches to tank is dropping down, push that connector up and try again.

I would like to suggest that you use a spray cleaner with a straw attached in that IAC......the Qtip are ok but won't get up into the seat of the plunger.......leaving a lot more gunk where the pistons slide.......

Can still be sticking because of that!!

Just toss a shop rag in the throttle body to catch the junk........IGN on........toggle the kill switch while spraying up into IAC.........I bet there will still be a bunch of chit up there.

I did exactly that. Sprayed and cleaned with the Q-tips. Think I will remove it this weekend and give it a good cleaning and see what happens. I'm not real optimistic at this point tho.

For what's worth I had a intermittent run problem, no codes, nothing. While at cruise It would just shut down then fire right back up. Dealer and and HD techs were stumped ! Ended up being the CPS keeper in the connection block was loose / not secured. They replaced a $1 part and all is well.
