At this point, the price is likely to still be almost the same as new, so why risk buying a used bike? A used bike's main appeal is significantly lower price and a used 2017 M8 is likely to not be very much less than new at this point in time.

why the negativity here ? i was not able to see the prices from the original post , maybe you went to the dealer web site?.
I wonder about demo bike that are not broken in per the Harley manual as well , but many post ride it like you stole it during break in.
If i guy can save a couple g on a 2017 why take the fun out of it by pointing out the bad , appreciate the original poster was trying to relay some decent info.

Yes, but they are possibly loaded with after marked goodies which bring little to no value upon resale. So even though the depreciation isn't as steep as it will be in a few months, one may get a great deal on an upgraded 17.
Like the others, though, if they are demo bikes, run away like the building is on fire.

I'd be curious to know if the bikes were demos. I wouldn't think rental bikes would be for sale just yet. The thing I wouldn't want to buy is a "buy back" bike. It's possible that some are out there and the customers signed confidentiality agreements.
